HyperTexted was established in 2018 by Ruel Nolledo (he/him). With over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors, Ruel has worked in policy and government affairs, public affairs, fundraising and communications, including roles at the Central American Resource Center, APLA Health and First 5 LA. He’s run advocacy communication campaigns, drafted state legislation, authored policy briefs, edited newsletters and reports, and raised more than $2 million in funding for nonprofits. Today he serves as lead writer and researcher on every HyperTexted project.

A third-generation Filipino American, Ruel lives in Downtown Los Angeles with his husband and their dog.
